THE $50BN OIL REVENUE HAS BEEN ACCOUNTED FOR

Remember my first blog on the $50bn missing oil revenue? Well it has now been accounted for by the Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala. Half of it- $24bn- represented taxes and royalties already paid by oil companies.

There is a shortfall of $12bn which has always been part of an ongoing discussion with finance and petroleum ministries.

Stay tuned for what happened to the remainder!

  1. $12 billion. Now where have I seen that figure before. But of course thats the same amount unaccounted for from IBBs time. I think they called it the gulf war oil money. I guess when it comes to Nigeria history has a way of repeating itself in different forms.
