Nigeria stops planned sale of refineries

The Nigerian government is not going to sell any state-owned oil refinery, according to ThisDay newspaper reports, citing presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati.
Initially Nigerian Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke said in Nov. government to begin sale of nation’s 4 refineries before end of 1Q.  Country’s 2 main oil unions opposed to sale said Dec. 31 they deferred plans to start strike initially on Jan. 1, pending meeting with govt
